Iran, at the heart of the Middle East, is the oldest country and civilization on earth, with the first charter of human rights known to mankind.

This great nation has come to many ups and downs. After a rapid modernization during Pahlavi dynasty after the misery that Qajar dynasty had brought to the country, unfortunately the Islamic Republic regime took over after a revolution which much of it was also enabled by communists of the Soviet Union.

The regime made the country going backwards in some cases and areas. They took people’s liberty (specially women’s), corrupted the system to the bone with their mafia groups controlling imports/exports, and waged wars through proxy militia groups and sponsored terrorism. They led the country to isolation, brain drain, and rapid economic descent.

Oppressing people’s quest to freedom brutally ever since, the discontent has been growing more and more widespread and unresting.

People have taken to the streets protesting, defied the regime quite so many times, and yet each time people have been executed, killed in the streets, or imprisoned for demanding freedom, even basic human rights.

During the protests in January 2026, a conservative estimate of 36,000 protesters have been killed in just 2 days. Marking the regime’s most violent and brutal crackdown ever, a total massacre if not fitting the definition of genocide.

The oppressive crackdown was done in total internet and communication blackout:
